Nadeshka Monroig was born in Puerto Rico. Moving a lot as a child led her to constantly create stories to share with her younger siblings or with classmates in elementary school. In fourth grade, she wrote her first children's short story about a butterfly who lived in a faraway kingdom. As she grew older, her love for telling stories grew with her but directed itself towards the news media.

 

After her high school graduation, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a minor degree in English Literature. During her undergrad experience, she was able to showcase articles on international websites and has been read by people worldwide. Her published articles include “Las redes sociales: un atentado contra los niños” and “Armas y desgracias en el mundo de los niños”, among others.

 

After graduation, Nadeshka worked as a freelance copyeditor. While working as a freelance, she did not stop working on her own writing. She went back to school to earn a Creative Writing Master’s degree.
